What We Grow   A message from Dale Heinzman

We grow high quality peony cut flowers of numerous choice varieties. Our production includes many unusual varieties that are not available commercially elsewhere. We also grow varieties that are popular in the market, most notably coral peonies and Red Charm. Currently, we market 2 yellow varieties and we planted 2 more in production blocks in 2005. We have planted large blocks of several new double white varieties.

I was first exposed to the peony cut flower business when I was very young. My father rented land and facilities on our farm to a major peony cut flower producer. I loved poking around the fields, the processing area, and the icehouse, but most of all I loved the beautiful flowers.

I have been growing rare and unusual varieties of Herbaceous Peonies and Tree Peonies for over 35 years. My wife, Barbara, and I live on the farm and we own and operate Halcyon Hill. We are currently working with 60 - 70 varieties of Herbaceous Peonies and 35 - 45 varieties of Tree Peonies. We have 4 exclusive varieties of Herbaceous Peonies that are available only from Halcyon Hill. Our exclusive varieties are Andrew Dale, Basia, Eric William, and Esther Heinzman.
